What makes a good blog?

The first assessment we have been given is to create an online academic blog using any blogging software of our choice. The blog we create needs to provide commentary on the ideas, technologies and the websites that have been presented to us during the course of the unit.
In order to create my blog, I needed to research what makes a good blog. I found that there are multiple attributes to making a successful blog. For example:

• Regular updates- posts need to be regular to ensure your readers are constantly being updated with brand new information. I hope to make a blog post on the same day of every week.
• Easy to read and understand- if people cannot understand your blog properly, they will not come back for further updates.
• Tidy layout and presentation- the blog needs to be easy to read and if the presentation or layout of the blog is messy, this could result in people not wishing to read it. 
• Stick to a target audience- having a set target audience will ensure that anyone reading and enjoying your blog will also enjoy posts in the future. 
• Include photos as well as text- make your blog interesting for your readers!
• Have a compelling title- this will make sure that anyone that comes across your blog will want to carry on reading. 

I hope to stick to the bullet points I have researched in order to create a good, successful academic blog.
